- completed in 1859/1860 AD or 1276 Hijriah
- scribe/calligrapher was Umar Redai
- complete 30 ajza/chapters with no missing pages
- contains 303 leaves and 606 pages
- writings on 604 pages, all pages have gold frames

Antique Handwritten Illuminated Qur'an #2 - Indonesia - 17th Or 18th Century AD

Quran Tulisan Tangan Berusia Ratusan Tahun - Mushaf Nusantara

Quran ini bertulisan tangan dan lengkap 30 juzuk. Terdapat mukasurat dengan hiasan berwarna. Dianggarkan berusia 300 hingga 400 tahun berdasarkan jenis kertas yang digunakan - kertas 'daluang' ini banyak digunakan di pesantren-pesantren Indonesia sekitar kurun ke 17 (1600 - 1699 Masihi).

Kondisi Quran adalah usang setara usianya, tapi masih terpelihara dan kesemua 6,666 ayat di dalam 114 surah masih tertera dengan jelas dan dapat dibaca. Quran antik dan langka ini berukuran agak besar 35cm x 23cm, serta mengandungi 273 helaian dan 546 mukasurat. Kulitnya yang asli sudah rosak dan digantikan dengan yang baru beberapa dekad lalu.

Quran ini mungkin pernah singgah di Kesultanan Brunei sekitar 1391 Hijrah atau 1971 Masihi, seperti yang dinotakan dengan tulisan jawi berdakwat merah di mukasurat akhir. Wallahua'lam.

Nota bertulisan Jawi tersebut ditulis dalam bahasa Jawa. Terjemahannya... 

"Selesai pada hari Ahad duku landak pancaran pada waktu dhuha pada bulan safar pada tanggal ke-tiga likur (23) pada  tahun jim (ج) awal H 91. Yang ampunya tulisan semoga selamat dunia hingga akhirat."

Disertakan dengan sebuah kotak vintage, bekas simpanan al Quran.

Antique Handwritten Illuminated Qur'an #2 - Indonesia - 17th Or 18th Century AD

- a large antique Qur'an from Indonesia
- handwritten with illumination
- estimated to be 300 - 400 years old
- written on 'daluang papers' which was popular in 17th century Indonesia and widely used by scholars in 'pesantren' (daluang papers were manufactured from the bark of native saeh tree)
- complete 30 ajza/chapters with no missing pages
- contains 273 leaves and 546 pages
- text is vocalised, verses are separated by red circles, headings of surahs are in red ink
- 15 lines to a page in clear large naskhi script
- this is a big Qur'an, size is 35cm x 23cm
- on the last page there is a note in Arabic in red ink "Sultan of Brunei: 1391 H al-Borneo" which may indicate that this Qur'an had once belonged to the Sultanate of Brunei in 1971, wallahua'lam
- there is also a handwritten note in jawi on the last page in Javanese language which can be translated to Malay language to mean...

- original cover was damaged beyond repair and was replaced with a new one

Ancient Illuminated Quran Leaf - 1831 AD

- an illuminated Quran leaf with calligraphy and gold paint
- written and illuminated by hand on fine polished paper on both sides of the leaf
- this is from an Arabic manuscript dated 1247 Hijriah or circa 1831 AD
- manuscript contains sufic writings, extracts from Quran, 99 names of Allah, various prayers and religious instructions
- Arabic calligraphy in fine and bold naskhi script
- text is vocalized and is contained within gold borders top and bottom, and centrally in the roundel
- text is in white ink on gold grounds and black ink in a roundel surrounded by both decorative blue (recto – front) and pink (verso – back) grounds
- leaf has watermark on lower left margin, extending to the edge of paper
- leaf measures 170 x 115mm
