Ancient Qur'an Leaves (Bifolium) - Kashmir - circa 1750 AD

- short surahs from Qur'an
- handwritten circa 1750 AD
- provenance is Kashmir, Northern India
- a pair of 2 leaves or bifolium
- there are text on both sides of the leaves, with similar illumination
- each page contains 13 lines of elegant naskh script written on fine cream paper in black ink
- text is highlighted with red ink, verses are marked by small gold discs
- there are gold cloud illumination on 3 lines of text on each page
- leaves measure 8" x 7"
- these are fragrant manuscripts, very sweet smelling but i'm not sure whether the fragrance comes from the paper or the ink
